Fayette Falcon Newspaper, Butch and Carolyn Rhea Honored for their Historic Photo Donation

Town of Somerville Board of Mayor and Aldermen thrilled to honor Butch and Carolyn Rhea for the donation of the beautiful, historic, framed photos of the Town of Somerville for the UT Martin Somerville Center Community Room!
 
Monday, July 8th, 2019 during the regularly scheduled Town Meeting for July,  the Town of Somerville Board of Mayor and Aldermen were thrilled to honor Butch and Carolyn Rhea for the donation of the beautiful, historic, framed photos of the Town of Somerville with the following resolution:



 RESOLUTION 15-2019
A RESOLUTION THANKING
BUTCH & CAROLYN RHEA
FOR THE DONATION OF PHOTOGRAPHS AND FRAMES

WHEREAS, Butch & Carolyn Rhea have owned the Fayette Falcon for over twenty years, which is the oldest newspaper in West Tennessee and has been serving the people of Fayette County since 1837; and
WHEREAS, Butch & Carolyn Rhea have preserved, for posterity, a photographic archive of the Town of Somerville which was created over the years by them and previous owners of the Fayette Falcon; and
WHEREAS, Butch & Carolyn Rhea spent countless hours reviewing those archives, which includes tens of thousands of historic photographs, in preparation of said donation; and
WHEREAS, Butch & Carolyn Rhea at their own expense, framed those aforementioned historic photographs; and
WHEREAS, Butch & Carolyn Rhea donated those framed historic photographs of the Town of Somerville, which are now displayed in the Community Hall at the UT Martin Somerville Center and at City Hall; 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Somerville;
THAT, in appreciation for their hard work and effort, Butch & Carolyn Rhea, are hereby recognized, by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen of the Town of Somerville, for their generous contribution to our town.

 READ AND ADOPTED this the 8th day of July, 2019.
