The Sewer system is owned and operated by the Town of Somerville. Today, the department services approximately 1500 customers through an estimated 30 miles of sewer collection piping.. The Town of Somerville sewer system primarily consists of gravity type collection systems, The Towns sewer system is divided naturally by terrain those that do not have a gravity system are serviced through home owner pump systems that carry the wastewater to either a larger pump station or gravity line.
The Towns wastewater collection system leads to the Towns Lagoon System were the wastewater is treated and released to the Loosahatchie River.
