Eddie Yaun was appointed by the Board
of Mayor and Aldermen on December 10, 2007. He looks forward
to serving the citizens of Somerville as they entrust him
with their confidence and support. Mr. Yaun also serves as
the City Recorder and City Treasurer.
Mr. Yaun graduated from East High
School (Memphis) in 1973. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree
in Business Administration from Union University, Jackson,
Tennessee in May, 1977.
Eddie entered the business world
in 1977 as a Budget Analyst and then as a Sr. Budget Analyst
with the City of Memphis. He rose through various roles with
the City to become an Office Supervisor, Administrative Manager,
and a Division Coordinator. In 1984, he was appointed as Deputy
Director of the General Services Division, and then appointed
in 1988 as the Deputy Director of the Sanitation Services
Division. In 1991, he was appointed as Administrator of Solid
Waste Operations for the Public Works Division. He has been
recognized with numerous awards in his field of expertise
by the Tennessee American Public Works Association and the
Tennessee Solid Waste Association. He has also served on the
Alumni Board at Union University, and as President of the
National Alumni Association in 1991-92.
Eddie is a lifelong resident
of Tennessee. He is married and has two children and one grandson.
Eddie and his wife are very involved in their children and
grandson's lives and activities and enjoy sporting events,
movies and traveling.
