City Administrator Austin H. Edmondson, Jr.

The City Administrator is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and coordinating all day-to-day activities, including activities of the Utilities; serves as the chief administrative officer of the Town and is responsible for the proper administration of all affairs of the City and Utilities. 

Austin H. Edmondson, Jr., is the City Administrator for the Town of Somerville.  The Board of Aldermen appointed him in September of 2010.  Austin has a Bachelor of General Studies from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a major in Public Administration.  He also received a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in local government management from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.  He began his career in public administration as the City Administrator of Dakota City, Nebraska and has a total of 12 years experience in local government management. 

Mr. Edmondson retired from the United States Air Force in 1992 after a career in which he achieved the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.  He is a member of the International City/County Management Association.
